When I was younger I always wished for a sister, and watching these two interact I remember why. Sisters share such a special connection. One that is impossible for a brother and sister to have. One that I'm still jealous of, even though I now have three amazing sister-in-laws. One that part of me considers having a third child so that Kaelyn can have that connection too. But enough about me.
My high school friend is the mother of these two sweet hearts and I was so happy when she asked me to take pictures of her and her husband. Unfortunately I couldn't make my schedule work while her husband was in town and instead offered some pictures of her girls while I was visiting for Easter. We took the evening and shot at the State Arboretum. Coming from North Carolina where everything bloomed a week earlier I was surprised that there weren't any buds on the trees, I can't imagine how pretty the Arboretum is when everything is in bloom.
Regardless, it was my first time visiting the arboretum and it has become my favorite location to shoot. I couldn't have planned for a better environment to capture these girls playing together. These two made my first sibling shoot (besides my own children) a memorable one indeed. Thank you Jess for letting me photograph your beautiful children!
