A photo a day :: July so far

I kind of fell off the photo a day challenge wagon. Not because I haven't been taking pictures but because life. Life is a crazy thing and it's been a crazy month so far. Maybe I didn't take a photo a day but I have been taking plenty of photos. I'm done dating my work, it's too much hassle quite honestly. Some days I take ten photos, some days I take zero. And dating them on the wrong day seems like cheating.

SO this is how I'm going to share my challenge photos from now on, and I don't think you'll mind.

In other news, this week Colin turns ONE. I know I can't believe it either. So I will be actually posting about Mom things! His birth story, maybe an outfit post, probably a testimonial about breastfeeding for a year. Things that have nothing to do with my business and everything to do with being a mother!

Guys, I had a root canal on Thursday and it totally knocked me on my a$$. I can't even begin to explain how much my face hurts, not to mention how swollen it is. I kind of look like Sylvester Stallone's daughter. It's insanity. So I'm keeping this post short and sweet.

A Photo A Day :: Week 24

This week was a weird busy week. Weird because it was just off. I went to the beach last weekend with my girlfriends and it was FABULOUS. Relaxing and just what the doctor ordered. Just enough time to regroup and miss my kids. Which every Mom needs now and again. That being said it threw me off for the rest of the week. Especially since I was leaving town again on Thursday with the kids. And then I had car trouble, not out of town but before I left, my car just shut off while I was driving...not worrisome at all when you have two small children, are planning a trip out of town, and it's been averaging 100 degrees... insert sarcastic smiley face. (don't worry I dropped my car at the shop and am driving around in a loaner, yay!)

A Photo A Day :: Week 23

So this is a little embarrassing. Last weekend I realized that I was a week ahead on my photo a week challenge. Meaning I had mis-numbered all the weeks starting at week 17 - which should have been week 16. I had to go through and change the weeks on all of my posts, thankfully I caught it now instead of ten weeks from now but... I thought I should explain in case you thought I lost my marbles (which I have) and was repeating weeks.  I had three shoots this past week, one maternity and two newborns. I need more practice with newborns. Although I am content with the shots I got, I feel like they could have been better...

I'm not going to lie guys, this week I was sort of a mess. Kaelyn was sick and then I was PMSing (tmi?) and the whole week was just one of those that I wished would end. I was so over it. I wanted to sleep and read and eat chocolate.  And with that I will confess that I cheated a bit on my challenge. In fact, I kind of cheated a lot. But I like a lot of these pictures so who cares. Isn't my attitude awesome?

A Photo A Day :: Week 21

I have been in the process of updating my portfolio and pricing - along with debating on switching platforms for my website and blog this week. It doesn't sound as time consuming as it is but once you throw in two kids and a busy summer schedule...life gets pretty hectic. And at the end of the day when I finally have time to sit down and edit or design a new site - all I really want to do is snuggle in bed with the hubs. So that's why I am just now posting my photos from last weeks 365 challenge. A Photo a Day :: Week 20

This past week was so incredible. Incredibly busy and amazing.

On Friday, Colin and I made the drive up to Winchester for a weekend packed full of Bridal fun and Photo-shoots. I had my best friends bachelorette party on Saturday and then three shoots back to back on Sunday. By the time that we arrived back in North Carolina late Sunday night - I was so exhausted that my camera saw no action for two full days. So I'm cheating a little and using images from my Sunday shoots to cover Monday and Tuesday. By Wednesday we had recovered and spent some of our afternoon at the pool, which was vacant except for us and absolutely heavenly. My day was only made better when I got the call that one of my clients was going into labor and it was time to capture her birth story. It was a VERY long night but oh so worth it. I can't really describe how amazing witnessing a birth is, giving birth is incredible, watching it happen is just as incredible but in a totally different way.

How many times did I say incredible in this post? Can you tell I'm still on cloud 9?
